(Chicago, IL) Gagen MacDonald LLC, the Chicago-based strategy execution and employee engagement firm, today announced that Peter Debreceny, formerly vice president, Corporate Relations at Allstate Insurance, has joined the consultancy.

In particular, we look forward to the leadership role he will assume as we align sustainability and social media capabilities to our deep employee engagement expertise.”

Peter Debreceny retired from Allstate in 2007, after nine years at the company, where he was responsible for internal and external communications for the Allstate Corporation and its subsidiaries. Peter has had more than 30 years’ experience in all aspects of public relations and integrated communications, and has practiced in New Zealand, Australia and the United States. Prior to joining Allstate he was Senior Vice President, Corporate and Financial Relations at the Chicago Edelman office.

He is immediate past co-chair of the Institute for Public Relations, a vice president of the Arthur W. Page Society, and chair of the Commission on Global Public Relations Research. He regularly lectures at universities and symposia in the United States and internationally, and is the 2008 James C. Bowling Executive-in-Residence at the University of Kentucky, and the Vernon C. Schranz Distinguished Lecturer in Public Relations at Ball State University.
