Robert A. Garcia
Bob Garcia brings to client engagements over 20 years of global industry and higher education experience in executive coaching, HR integration, strategic planning, talent management, organizational effectiveness, succession planning, training and group facilitation.
Bob applies his experience at Gagen MacDonald by building strong partnerships with executive leadership in HR, organizational development and operations functions. Currently he is responsible for co-leading the firm’s Building Capabilities business practice, which focuses on building leadership communications competencies in organizations.
Bob is bi-lingual, and brings cultural awareness, sensitivity, and knowledge to Gagen MacDonald’s work with multinational companies. His extensive global experiences equip him to understand the multi-cultural impact on communities and individuals when organizations experience large-scale change.
Through a broad range of experiences on both the corporate and consulting side of business, Bob has accumulated deep “people expertise.” Highlights in his consulting experiences include working with United Airlines during the company’s global expansion, leading integration efforts for a global merger-acquisition with Tenneco Packaging and initiating and maintaining a best-in-class Corporate University for International Truck & Engine Corporation (now Navistar International), where he also led the successful negotiation of a six-year union contract. In previous corporate roles Bob held the position of vice president of organizational development for Kohler Co., a leading, global plumbing products manufacturer. In that role he was charged with developing a global HR Center of Excellence. Bob has developed and delivered numerous sustainable talent management processes.
Bob has a strong commitment to his community and has worked with a number of local and national organizations. His professional affiliations include membership with the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement, National Training Council (American Management Association), The Business Intelligence Board for The Chief Learning Officer Journal, and the Editorial Board for Training Magazine.
