Listening, thinking, writing since 1984
Chandler Goodman puts his creativity to work to help Gagen MacDonald’s clients translate complex business strategy into compelling employee engagement campaigns.
Currently, Chandler is working with a legacy, 200-year-old American brand, where he is providing strategic communications counsel to help a new executive spark his vision for the organization into motion. Specifically, he is helping the company enhance its overall change readiness capability and earn buy-in around new, more efficient ways of working.
Most recently, Chandler worked closely with Edison International in various capacities. To advance its corporate reputation, he helped translate reputation research into a storyline that resonated with the company’s 18,000 employees, and led editorial alignment efforts to consistently reinforce corporate positioning among Edison’s business unit channels. Before that, Chandler supported change communications for Southern California Edison’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and labor communications at a food and beverage company.
Writing comedy is Chandler’s #1 passion and he has an extensive background in both creative and political satire writing. Besides his B.A. in political science from Colgate University, he is a graduate of the famed Second City Theater’s comedy writing program, as well as their improv comedy program, and is an improv student at Chicago’s iO Theater. Chandler has served as both a writer and producer on various Chicago sketch revues.
Chandler approaches any client challenge with his quick wit and a smile. He is inspired most greatly by the tenacity and sacrifice of his family, in particular citing his great-grandfather as a personal hero. “He spent six years of his life in a Russian prison camp during and after World War I. He got out and a week later moved to America and started a new life. That kind of toughness puts delayed flights and business challenges in perspective.”
“Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand.” – Mark Twain
