Lauren Underhill brings her passion for interpersonal communication and client relations to deliver outstanding results amid organizational complexity. From her experience addressing diverse client needs and journalism degree, Lauren has an intense curiosity and drive for problem-solving, and a propensity for storytelling.
Since joining Gagen MacDonald, Lauren has activated a wide variety of internal communication campaigns at a Fortune 500 healthcare company, including supporting diversity and inclusion, pay equity and other HR initiatives. Lauren also served as interim director of communication at a global retailer, working to activate company culture. She has supported change management during organizational realignment, executed campaigns to enhance employees’ understanding of business strategy, and helped improve information flow through strategic communication planning and implementation.
Lauren entered the communications field via public relations agencies, first focusing on franchise brands. She went on to broaden her content development and client relations skillsets at an agency with a focus on business-to-business technology brands. Most recently, Lauren served as the marketing coordinator for a restaurant group in Chicago, where she partnered directly with local leaders to drive traffic and sales for eight unique restaurants through social media marketing.
Evidenced in all of Lauren’s work are her strong writing skills and strategic thinking. She artfully connects communications to organizational objectives and produces deliverables that help her clients achieve results.
Lauren received her Bachelor of Arts in journalism with a specialization in public relations from Michigan State University.
