Malkia Payton-Jackson

Malkia brings almost 20 years of diverse experience to her work on the Gagen MacDonald team. She has managed small and global communications projects in science, biotechnology, and health care industries and supported strategy for clients across the corporate spectrum from small businesses to Fortune 500.

Recently, Malkia was an Enterprise Communications Manager for a $6.5B provider of health care solutions, consulting market lines of business to develop communications that effectively engaged hard-to-reach consumers.

Prior to joining Gagen MacDonald, Malkia supported the safety, health, and environmental function for a global science and engineering company. She executed communications that strengthened employees’ understanding of change initiatives during organizational realignment.

Over the last several years, her consulting work has included developing and managing product and digital communications for a bioscience firm, a medical communications agency, and a clinical diagnostics company. In these roles, she translated technically dense information for both internal and external audiences and strategized new channels of engagement.

Malkia began her career in technical writing for an international distributor and reseller of information technology products and services. It was during those early years that she developed a passion for conveying complex information in simple and concise terms to diverse audiences. She brings her intuitive and inquisitive nature to her client interactions to guide the development of communications that educate audiences and compel them to action.

Malkia spent her childhood in Cambridge, MA but proudly calls the Greater Philadelphia region, home. She holds a B.A. in Communication from Rutgers University.
