Steve Astle is a business strategist and communications practitioner who specializes in helping organizations manage the dynamics of innovation and disruption as they transform themselves for long-term competitive advantage.
He has over thirty years of experience building and leading high-performing teams in corporate, consulting and agency settings, and has advised iconic businesses that include Bloomberg, Oracle, Cisco, eBay, Genentech, FICO, PayPal and many others.
As CCO at FICO, the cloud-based analytics software company, Steve reported directly to the CEO and was a member of the company’s M+A diligence team. He led all internal and external communications surrounding eight acquisitions, five divestitures and five reductions in force. He also led efforts to rebrand FICO and reposition its B2B product portfolio to capitalize on shifting market dynamics.
As partner and co-chair of a top-five communications agency’s Global Technology Practice, Steve consulted with clients ranging from early-stage to Fortune 500 companies on matters concerning corporate reputation, competitive positioning, and product/services sales growth.
Steve is an alumnus of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and serves on the board of the Stanford Alumni Consulting Team. He also holds advanced degrees in psychology, and has completed coursework in marketing at Harvard and Kellogg. He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
