Most recently, Malkia has played a leading role in award-winning work with Bristol-Myers Squibb to equip the organization for successful enterprise-wide transformation. Her contributions include launching leader engagement programs that encourage feedback, listening, telling a compelling story about the company’s direction, and exemplifying desired behaviors needed to deliver on the transformation.

Prior to joining Gagen MacDonald, Malkia served as an enterprise communications manager for a $6.5B healthcare solutions provider, consulting market lines of business to effectively engage hard-to-reach participants.

Her background in communications consulting work also includes executing communications for the safety, health, and environmental function of a global science and engineering company to strengthen employees’ understanding of change initiatives during organizational realignment. She managed product and digital communications for a bioscience firm, a medical communications agency, and a clinical diagnostics company. In these roles, Malkia translated technically dense information for both internal and external audiences and strategized new channels of engagement.

Malkia began her communications career as a technical writer for an information technology products and services firm. It was during those early years that she developed a passion for conveying complex information in simple and concise terms to diverse audiences. She brings her intuitive and inquisitive nature to her client interactions to guide the development of communications that educate audiences and compel them to action.

Malkia traces her love for communications to her early childhood in Cambridge, MA, where she displayed a skill in cross-cultural communications. She intentionally sought after and fostered friendships with peers from across the globe.
