Jan 11, 2016

CHICAGO, IL (January 11, 2016) – Strategy execution firm Gagen MacDonald announced today that Sherry Scott was promoted to president, effective immediately. Maril Gagen MacDonald will continue in her role as Founder and Chief Executive Officer.

“Throughout Gagen MacDonald’s 18-year history, we’ve taken several quantum leaps to remain pioneers in accelerating organizational change. We’re honored to work with many of the world’s most important companies to create the leaders and the workforce of the future,” said MacDonald. “We see even greater opportunity now as our C-Suite clients face ever-more complicated cross-functional challenges that require our multi-disciplinary solutions. Sherry’s new role enables us to further integrate the broad and diverse talents of our team as we design highly compelling and integrated strategies, structures and cultures for leading change.”

“Equally important, Sherry personifies our differentiated corporate character of client-centricity coupled with industry leadership, high-accountability, and generosity of spirit and action – all grounded in gratitude.”

“As CEO, I personally look forward to continuing to focus on client needs and aspirations and to developing our next big strategic leap – and the talent that will take us there,” said MacDonald.

Scott has been with the firm since its inception and most recently served as chief operating officer and communication practice lead. She is a recognized industry leader with deep expertise in supporting clients undergoing business transformation to address the human struggle of change and drive reputation from the inside-out.

Scott most recently served two terms as the founding chair of Page Up, a new membership organization launched by the Arthur W. Page Society. The invite-only organization for Page members’ most senior communication leaders engages and develops the next generation to accelerate their ability to lead their organizations. Scott also is past-president of The Communications Leadership Exchange, a national association for senior-level communication professionals.

She began her career at Navistar International in 1990, leading internal communications during the company’s highly-successful cultural and business turnaround. Scott also worked for a global public relations firm in its Corporate and Investor Communications practice.

“I’m proud of our reputation as the go-to firm for clients who strive to change themselves to change the world. I’m also thrilled to continue to support our strong culture and reputation as a great place to work with deep thought leadership in our field and a very high-performing team,” she said.
