Sherry Scott Named Among PRWeek's "Champions of PR"

Mar 28, 2017

PRWeek has named Gagen MacDonald's Sherry Scott to its 2017 "Champions of PR"list.

The esteemed designation honors women in public relations—from senior leaders to account executives—who continually set the bar high. Forty winners were selected from more than 200 nominees. The candidates were judged on their work in public relations, as well as their philanthropic efforts.

Scott is currently President of Gagen MacDonald. Scott was named to the role in January 2016 and tasked with further integrating the diverse talents of Gagen MacDonald's employees and designing and executing highly compelling strategies, structures and cultures for leading change.

As the firm’s first Chief Operating Officer, from 2013 to 2016, Scott restructured Gagen MacDonald into a team-driven model, resulting in accelerated growth. Now as President, she is responsible for all client operations, human resources and talent, firm engagement, and the firm’s P/L. She has led engagements for a variety of Fortune 500 clients, including Bristol Myers-Squibb, Coca-Cola, Johnson & Johnson, Southern California Edison, United Airlines and Walgreens Boots Alliance. Her work leading large-scale business transformation for M&A and divestitures, culture change and integration, and operations improvements has been recognized by a number of industry organizations and publications.

Scott also invests significant time in driving industry thought leadership and developing future talent. She most recently served two terms as the founding chair of Page Up, a membership organization launched by the Arthur W. Page Society. The invite-only organization for Page members’ most senior communication leaders engages and develops the next generation's leadership abilities. Scott is also past-president of The Communication Leadership Exchange, a national association for senior-level communication professionals. In addition, she has guest lectured at her alma mater, The University of Kansas, as well as at DePaul University.
